Lavagna: “There is a risk of another Rodrigazo”

June 10, 2012

Former Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna criticized the macroeconomic conditions in Argentina and said that, in this climate, “the trend is only one.”

“Unless there is a politic decision and a policy that achieves an economic climate change, the trend is only one,” Lavagna said, and warned that “there is risk of another Rodrigazo”.

“Argentina’s economy is now in ‘bevel’. All the prices in the economy are very messy, no one is satisfied and just needed a change of policy so we do not to get to situations like 1975, when also all prices were messy, “said the economist.

“Today, as forecast, inflation has risen from 18 to 25% per year, and growth has been lowered to 4 or 5% to 3%,” he concluded.
