France: The Socialism would be winning the legislative elections

France, June 10, 2012

The French Socialism leader Hollande won the first round of legislative elections in France. In this election will be renewed the entire Chamber of Deputies.

According to data released by the France 2 channel, the Socialism and the left would be getting 47.1% of the votes while the Union for a Popular Majority (UMP) and the Conservatives come to 35.4%. Meanwhile, the extreme right National Front achieves the 13.4%.

If confirmed these estimates, the left may have between 305 and 353 deputies and the right and their allies between 227 and 266 seats, being the two most important fronts in the House.

To win the legislative elections, the PS would be in an unprecedented position of power, to have the presidency, the majority in both houses, the government of almost all regions, departments and cities in the country. The chance is vital to the aspirations of Hollande to implement his agenda.

In case of defeat, Hollande would be forced to appoint a conservative prime minister, as the current premier, Jean-Marc Ayrault, would be forced to resign.
