The UCR will request an “administrative inquiry” to Daniel Reposo
Argentina, June 9, 2012
Manuel Garrido, deputy for the Radical Civic Union, told to the press that his party will request an “administrative inquiry” to Daniel Reposo, to be displaced from the direction of the Comptroller General’s Office (Sigen, for its acronym in Spanish). On the other hand, he emphasized that the new candidate for the Attorney General’s Office, Alejandra Gils Carbó, is a good offer.
“The president (Cristina Kirchner) has chosen someone who is ready for the palce” said Garrido, referring to Gils Carbó.
He added “from the technical perspective and background, (the prosecutor) is the opposite of the previous nominee.” Reposo had declined his nomination to the Attorney after criticism raised by the opposition.
In this sense, the radical deputy said against the former candidate “we will request an administrative inquiry to remove him from the Sigen because we understand that someone who misrepresents his background, trying to deceive the Senate and the Argentine people has no integrity to continue occupying a position of such importance.”
In the same vein, Deputy Ricardo Alfonsin said “Reposo’s resignation was a triumph of institutions and of the Republic” claiming that “the former candidate did not meet the technical or moral conditions.”
“If I were president I would also ask him to leave the Sigen” concluded Alfonsin.
