Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri held a meeting with Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo and Buenos Aires province governor Daniel Scioli for metropolitan transport.

The meeting took place after the transfer of the Transportation Secretary to the Interior Ministry, where according to the orders of President Cristina Kirchner, officials will need to create a tripartite body that integrates the national state, the city government and the province of Buenos Aires to improve the urban transport system.

“The meeting has been positive. We agree with Scioli and the city mayor to coordinate joint transport policies in the metropolitan area, where 11 million passengers move per day,” Randazzo said and added that the subway subject was not treated.

Meanwhile Scioli said: “Here is a clear political will of the national government, with much responsibility, calling us to this meeting, is an issue that concerns us and takes every day.”

Macri also said the meeting was positive. “It is good that we have been summoned. Hopefully this will result in concrete things for people,” the mayor said.
