The president, Cristina Kirchner, ascended post mortem Jorge Devoto, officer disappeared during the military dictatorship.
In a ceremony with symbolic content, the president rose to Commander of the Navy the soldier who was kidnapped, tortured in the School of Naval Mechanics (ESMA) and subsequently disappeared.
Jorge Devoto had been thrown being conscious to the Rio de la Plata on one of the famous “death flights” as said in court during the investigation of his death.
