Senator Anibal Fernandez has been featured in recent day of impolitic statements and has created a real confusion in people.
Yesterday, the official said the dollar traded in the informal market or so-called “blue”, would have a value of 5.10, as Guillermo Moreno, Secretary of Internal Trade, had met with entities exchange, achieving an agreement to take the dollar at that price.
This point raised questions such as: Informal dollar is sold in the formal exchange places? Or the officer spoke of formal dollar assuming devaluation?
The truth is that today both markets remained stable: the formal was 4.45 pesos for the purchase and 4.49 pesos for sale, while the “blue” is offered to 5.87 pesos for the purchase and 5, 90 pesos for sale.
No government representative came out to clarify the words of Fernandez but despite the uncertainty, exchange houses operated normally.
