Cristina: “Argentina was also given birth to the 30,000 disappeared”

President Cristina Kirchner led the event for the 25th anniversary of Página/12 newspaper in ESMA and declared that Argentina also was given birth by the 30,000 disappeared rather than claiming the mothers of Plaza de Mayo moved by love for their sons.

In this line she added that Página/12 articles praised are “a password for identity and people who like to debate, discuss and argue, is like DNA,” indicating that it is “a cultural battle.”

On the other hand, the president said that from her policy space “we have recovered the Nation, popular democracy.”

Also thanked “for having sustained for 25 years Página/12. I feel much honored to be in this area, you can speak. I’d like when Página/12 age 50, also a president can come here, because that means transformation has consolidated,” she added.
