Carlos Heller proposed to de-dollarize the economy
May 24, 2012
The national deputy of Nuevo Encounter, Carlos Heller, proposed to solve the dollar problem parallel trhough the de-dollarization of the economy, so consumers should not worry about the currency market.
“Whoever bet on dollar through out these years, lost. Let’s have a retrospective analysis from 2003 on anyone here who converted their pesos into dollars and we see what they did not do well. Dollar as a refuge when there is danger is understandable, but here the dangers are artificial. I think there is a perverse induction,” argued the head of the Bank Credicop.
He added that “the authorities have to find a better filter to discriminate specific needs. As for the properties, for example, I think it was time to consider that we live in Argentina, why not pesifying [sic, as in turning to peso]?”.
Heller said that one should not take lightly the purchase of dollars on the black market. “What do you mean with blue dollar? The market is illegal, unauthorized, in reality it is a crime. Buying and selling foreign currency outside the formal banking system constitutes an unlawful act, “he said.
