The man who found the bomb said “it had to be someone who knew where they would meet”

Victor Fernandez is the Grand Rex theater employee who found the explosive device that had threatened the life of former President Alvaro Uribe today. He said that whoever planted it should have known there would be a cocktail on the third floor.

Fernandez reported that he found the apparatus “was normal maintenance. The theater is constantly reviewed for functionality issues. The meeting was entirely accidental.”

“I was on the third floor where he was to have a cocktail at one time. Had to be someone who knew [the cocktail] was there, but it could be put anywhere,” he said.
