Donna Summer dies at age 63

American singer LaDonna Adrian Gaines, best known as Donna Summer, died this morning in Florida at age 63 after long fight against cancer.

She was born December 31, 1948, and was a disco icon in the 70s and 80s her biggest hits were “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff”, among others.

She won five Grammy Awards and eleven of her albums went gold in the U.S..

She inspired great contemporary singers like the late Huouton Whitney or Beyonce and even Mariah Carey.

Donna had her beginnings in her local church as gospel singer in the city of Boston. The daughter of a very religious marriage, shocked with her songs by the erotic side in the interpretation.
