President Santos says that “it appears that the FARC are behind” the attack today

The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos expressed his condolences to relatives and acquaintances of the victims of the attack today in Bogota. He said the drug organization is behind it.

“We emphasize the facts of this morning, when we captured a person with a car bomb apparently aimed for the police station Eduardo Santos,” the President said.

“The person has made a series of confessions, and it appears that the FARC are behind this first event,” added Santos.

In the morning, the explosion of a car bomb left at least 19 wounded and 5 dead. The attack was against the Interior Minister, Fernando Londoño Hoyos, who was wounded after the explosion.
