Federer defeated Berdych and became the champion of the Masters 1000 of Madrid

Roger Federer is the new champion of the 1000 Madrid Masters, defeating the Czech Berdych 3-6, 7-5 and 7-5. 

The Swiss former world No. 3, achieved this victory and became the number 2, being above the Spanish Rafael Nadal.

Federer managed to recover after losing the first set and closed out the match after break his service in the Czech final in September.

Czech Tomas Berdych, 6th in the rankings, had beaten Juan Martin Del Potro after two tie-breaks.
