Velez tied in the Fortin, but still passed to the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores

Velez drew with Atletico Nacional for the second leg of the knockout stage of Copa Libertadores. He was 1-1 with goals from Augusto Fernandez (V) at 7 ‘of the ST and Luis Mosquera (AN) at 24′ ST. In the 1-0 victory in Colombia, led by Gareca passed round.
