Movistar will be fined 185 million pesos

Planning Minister Julio De Vido announced that the mobile phone company Movistar, will be fined 185 million pesos, for the failures that occurred on April 2that left 16 million users without service.
Movistar is a company of Spanish group “Telefonica” with a national reach extremely important. While 16 million users were without service, that affected another 30 million people. In this scenario, De Vido highlighted “the massiveness of the problem.”
The minister added, “The government will also require to the phone companies to make investments that are not doing”, otherwise “we are going to intimate them,” he said.
The company had announced the day of the blackout that “due to a technical problem on the network, on the morning of today [April 2] service was disrupted.” The problems lasted at least 5 hours.
