May 7, 2012
The governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Daniel Scioli, spoke about the death of Lautaro Bugatto, Banfield’s defender who was shot by a police officer chasing two criminals. He called it “murder.”
After an official ceremony in the locality of Tigre, Scioli said the officer’s action “is not [of] the police we want nor our security policy.” The officer was off duty and shot unarmed criminals who attempted to steal his daughter’s motorcycle .
“It’s not insecurity, it is murder. As such it must be treated with the full weight of the force of law,” said the governor told reporters.
“[I feel] indignation, dismay, very angry, because obviously it is neither the police nor we want our security police,” the provincial leader.
