The Argentine boxer Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez gave a press conference at the headquarters of ATILRA union where he talked about his main goal: to fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who holds the title of middleweight.

“I’m betting everything to Chavez and to avoid draining to the end of the last thing I will not stop thinking about it. I’m pointing all the guns to Chavez, ” Maravilla said the day he turns 17 years as a boxer.

“I have time to fight Sept. 15 in Las Vegas by HBO. It may also be in October. But if Chavez again eludes me, the World Boxing Council (WBC) will have to get the title and order a fight with the first in the ranking. That would be more credible and serious,” he said.

On the site of the fight, one possibility was Buenos Aires, precisely at Luna Park, but he confessed that it wasn’t so important, because all he cares about is being in the ring with Chavez, face to face.

Anyway, Martinez said that if he has the chance to choose the ideal location would be Las Vegas, as he never was able to savor the victory there.

With a confident tone and challenging, Maravilla said that Chavez has no chance against him. “He is going to end up. I will not allow judges to have the opportunity to make a mistake. “

Out of this controversy, the boxer admitted that loves affection of the people and said he felt he is invading the domain of “idol”. He was surprised by the large crowd of media at a press conference and as every day is becoming more popular in his own country.

Asked about the disadvantages that has an Argentine boxer, Maravilla said that a Mexican would make things easier in some respects, but he would never change his citizenship for that matter. “I am Argentine until the day I die.”
