The Spanish Foreign Minister said that “Argentina is standing outside the World”
Spain, April 27, 2012
After the expropriation of 51% of the shares of YPF, Spain reiterated its anger for the Argentine government’s decision. This time was the Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, who assured that “there won’t be viable any agreement between the EU and Mercosur while Argentina does not comply with International laws.”
“With Mercosur it will not be possible any agreement if Argentina does not respect the rules of the International law,” said the minister to the public broadcaster Radio Nacional of Spain (RNE).
And he added that “Argentina is standing outside the world” by taking the decision without the agreement of Repsol.
“We will not take any action that harms the people of Argentina, but we will call their government to lead them back to the path of international legality, which is what their people wants” he concluded.
