“Real Rapunzel” sells her hair to buy a house for her family

A real Rapunzel cut her hair for the first time in her life in order to buy a family house of her dreams.

Natasha Moraes de Andrade, 12, wept as her hair was cut 1.6 m for the first time. But now she says has a new life.

Natasha, who lives in a favela in Rio de Janeiro, was previously unable to do things that other kids enjoy, like going to the beach.

The girl took at least 4 hours to wash her ​​hair each week, making her life a living nightmare.

Now she only has a mane of 40 cm long, and wash it only takes five minutes.

Natasha slept in a small room with no windows, and set his hair on sale for 9,000 reais (about 5 thousand dollars).

The hair was compared to extensions and with the money; she could buy a better house for her family.
