President Cristina Kirchner said regarding measures by Spain of do not import more biodiesel from Argentina, due to the nationalization of YPF, will be not questioned.

“If the government of Spain wants to pay more expensive biofuel, is a sovereign decision of that country, we are not going to question it,” said the president.

“We will not make any pose at the World Trade Organization, nor will we protest because our exports are close. We are a very respectful of the sovereignty of other countries and therefore we are defenders of our own sovereignty and our own decisions,” she added.

It further argued that the country is able to absorb the fuel. “We are able to absorb that production of 400 thousand tons exported to Spain and even 700 thousand more of our domestic market.”

In this sense, Cristina called “peace to all Argentines” as the country “produces 3 million tons of biodiesel a year and a cheaper price and is able to use this production.”
