The strike in all the subway lines and Premetro began
April 19, 2012
After not being met and raising the turnstiles, subway workers decided to go on strike “indefinitely” in order to demand to be included in joint discussions.
The delegate of Line B, Claudio Dellecarbonara, said the strike “is the only way to get attention”, after the above measures fail.
“The subway is a time bomb, presented letters a month and a half to the company and the Ministry of Labour and did not respond,” he said, and continued: “We raise the turnstiles to get attention and nothing happened.”
“We do not want comrades killed by the lack of investment, those who die in these disasters are the workers. Officials and company managers do not travel by subway, “said the delegate, referring to the D line worker who died electrocuted.
Meanwhile, Metrovías announced that will make “every effort to provide service under a schedule of emergency trained and qualifying license.”
