The first vertical runway was inaugurated

These models show they really are the height of fashion – by taking part in a vertical catwalk.

Strapped into harnesses and wearing outfits from a top designer, they rappelled face-first down the side of a 24-storey hotel in Boston.

Some even pulled off spectacular swan dives to a thrilled audience below.

The vertigo-inducing show took place yesterday to celebrate the opening of the Revere Hotel in the city.
