Randazzo: “We make decisions thinking of the Argentine and not what U.S. or Spain think”
Buenos Aires, April 19, 2012
Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo said in remarks to reporters during a ceremony where he presented the changes in immigration posts of entry and exit from the country, the Argentine government does not fear reprisals from Spain or the U.S. before the nationalization of YPF.
“The national government makes decisions considering the Argentines, not what America or the Spanish think,” said the minister.
He added that it be “regrettable that any of these countries to act” with reprisals because Argentina is making a decision “in accordance with the law and guidelines established by the Constitution.”
“The decision to proceed with the project of public interest of oil exploitation and the expropriation of 51% of YPF is linked to a strategic issue for Argentina,” the official said.
