ATILRA announces the reopening of two dairy companies declared bankrupt: One would be Gandara
April 16, 2012
As indicated from the Association of Dairy Industry Workers of Argentina (ATILRA), the milk companies El Amanecer and Gandara could be taken by the Indalo Group, reviving production of both of them.
M24Digital contacted Ricardo Pecotche, Deputy Secretary of ATILRA, who reported that Indalo is close to buying the dairy El Amanecer. “It has been paying dairy farmers and the workers’ wages for 20 or 30 days,” he told this newspaper.
Pecotche explained that El Amanecer belongs to the Grupo Santa Barbara. It was closed since 2009 and had declared bankruptcy in 2010.
The Deputy Secretary also reported that the Indalo Group would be interested in acquiring the firm Gandara, which was an emblem of Argentine dulce de leche and then was bankrupted by the owner.
“This group is also interested in this plant, we have the deadlines. The idea is to make an offer to the judge because they are broke. We are awaiting the filing of the court because it would a be very important purchase,” Pecotche told M24Digital.
“Surely they have a payment agreement because the Group Indalo has been paying dairy farmers and the workers’ wages for 20 or 30 days,” he said.
