Toy grenade causes panic in New York

A false bomb threat caused the evacuation of a building in front of the Twin Towers monument through an intensive operation that it was already finished.

A special squad looked a strange object that had been sent to an employee of the building.

“What seemed to be an explosive device discovered by X-ray machine was a toy hand grenade,” said police spokesman Paul Browne.

The toy had been sent to Nomura Holdings, a financial services company in the building 2 World Financial Center, AFP reported.
