Calvin Klein leaves the country
Buenos Aires, March 26, 2012
Calvin Klein Underwear closed its last store at Unicenter shopping after reaching the country in 2008.
The same has happened with other luxury brands like Armani on Alvear Avenue, last year, when it finally left the Argentine market.
These data are for many the result of barriers to imports of the national government.
But officials have been commissioned to inform the policies in this area aim to protect domestic industry and therefore the jobs of citizens.
That’s why many of the products of these brands are stranded at the custom for long periods and consequently they must resort to selling items from past seasons at deep discounts.
Another example is the Italian luxury menswear Ermenegildo Zegna, located in the Patio Bullrich whose shop momentarily was closed for “lack of products.”
