Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman said that “there is no country in the world can accuse Argentina of not allowing imports to our country.”
In this vein, the official said Argentina imported in 2011 by 30.8% over the previous year, without losing the positive trade balance thanks “to the country’s industrial strength.”
He added it was also the result of “effort to bring technology, machinery and help entrepreneurs who want to invest in the country, hire workers and encourage consumption.”
“There is criticism or questioning of policies that some see as obstacles, but behind these criticisms there are interests that are not those of the country,” said the minister, and remarked, “Anything that can be produced in Argentina is important to occur here, because it employs the Argentines.”
Timerman also said that this year, “there will be positive trade balance.”
