Did you ever think of leaving a person speechless who with his verbal incontinence has drilled your brain? It is now possible thanks to an amazing invention: a gun that makes people speechless.

This is the “Speech Jammer” invented by the Japanese Koji Tsukada and Kazutaka Kurihara, whose idea is really very simple.

To speak correctly, a person needs to hear what he says, in order to coordinate his speech at the time it is emitted. Between one thing and another takes a time that is perfectly synchronized.

But now, if that period is modified with a fraction of seconds, the person stops talking instantly to be disoriented.

The Speech Jammer generates that someone listen his own words with 0.2 second delay.

How is it possible?

The machine attaches a directional microphone and a loudspeaker in a box containing a pointer and a laser distance sensor and, of course, a computer for calculating the delay time based on the distance from the speaker.

To work, the person using the weapon has to point to the speaker, with the laser pointer as a guide and then pull the trigger. It works for distances up to about thirty meters. Of course, the machine will not cause any physical discomfort and affected immediately recovers the speech.
