Mitre street will be enabled to traffic on Tuesday
City of Buenos Aires, March 10, 2012
Thus, it was stated by the Minister of Environment and Public Space of Government of Buenos Aires, Diego Santilli. The street was closed to traffic after the tragedy in the nightclub Cromañon, which occurred in 2004 and left 194 people dead. The shrine to honor the victims will remain as the new road will border it.
From Tuesday, March 13, the street Bartolome Mitre between Ecuador and Jean Jaures will be enabled to traffic, but only for buses, taxis, ambulances and emergency vehicles, not private cars.
Furthermore, the road was reconstructed so that the sanctuary remains intact.
The street was closed for seven years, but after the tragedy of Once, the Government of Buenos Aires decided to reopen it to give better circulation to the area.
