The Rock in Río reaches Argentina in 2013

According to Roberto Medina, president and creator of the Rock in Rio, Argentina will be the second country to embrace the festival originated in Brazil. The head of Government of Buenos Aires came to an agreement with Rock in Rio to bring the show in September 2013.
Speaking to EFE, Medina said he chose Buenos Aires due to the “institutional cooperation, the intimate relationship with the music of Argentina and the proximity to Rio de Janeiro”.
Last September, Rock in Rio festival held seven days of music, selling 700,000 tickets and grossing about 460 million dollars for the city, according to figures provided by Medina.
He added “From my point of view, Argentina is the most rock country in Latin America, with strong groups that give concerts for 60,000 or 70,000 people”.
The festival is coming to the City of Buenos Aires in late September, just days after the conclusion of its edition in Brazil.
