Fire in Military Base of the Brazilian Antartic left three dead

The incident occurred at the Base Comandante Ferraz in the Brazilian Antarctic. The Argentine Ministry of Defense, who helped after the accident, confirmed that there are at least three dead. The survivors were sent to the Chilean city of Punta Arenas. 

Help came from the hand of the crew of the oceanographic vessel “Puerto Deseado” of the Argentine Navy and the Hercules C-130 aircraft from the Air Force.

Meanwhile, the national director of the Southern (DNA), Mariano Memolli confirmed that the base “was totally destroyed by the fire”.

According to sources from the Brazilian Navy, the fire started in where the power generators of the Comandante Ferraz base, dedicated to the research in Admiralty Bay on King George Island near the Antarctic Peninsula.
