Cristina: “People like Spinetta does not die, they just go”

February 9, 2012

The president, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, inaugurated works in the locations in Buenos Aires of Olavarria and Merlo, and the town of General Alvear, Mendoza, via teleconference. She remembered Luis Alberto Spinetta.

Thank you very much. The truth is that this has been a full day. We are doing in 5 minutes what took at least years.  The other thing that touched me greatly is that the mayor of El Dorado, who joins us, now in his 4th term, is a veteran of the Falklands. One serious veteran, of those who were in the Falklands.

I also claim the deputy Jose Maria Diaz Bancalari, the other day suffered a brutal and cowardly assault. When a group of people attacking one, from behind, knocks, we do agree to when they were very courageous when they were alone and tied one. Mayor, thank you very much for what he did by his teammates for nearly 30 years.

Today we are covering 65% of the population with digital TV and free for all. Not to mention the gym is awesome. Do not know what it means for the people [have gyms roofs].

Inclusion is going to sleep and knowing that nothing bad is going to happen. Inclusion is having a television. Inclusion is a job. We are proud to have been the cycle that has grown in cement production in Argentina.

Let me conclude by reminding someone, another thin that we did. Last night we were working on Olivos when we heard “el Flaco Spinetta died”. The first thing that came to mind was the Almendra album cover, that had harlequin with tears, With the rubber arrow.

Today we lost a bit of our youth. Almendra, he, were the symbol of a generation. I listened to those songs, and when they told he was gone… because people like he does not die, they just go. When someone can leave a testimony of life. People like only go leaving behind very important things. Bye Flaco, and we will see each other at some point. Thank you all and lets go forward.
