Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman again referred to the controversial remarks of British Prime Minister David Cameron, who accused Argentina of colonialism.

Timerman said he will not answer “any wrong militaristic tone” from Cameron. “The best answer I can think of is to forward a history book as a gift. Cameron did not read any books of British history,” said the Argentine minister.

“It doesn’t make any sense that the country that was the symbol of colonialism in the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and even in the twentieth century can accuse a country that has been the victim of colonialism of all kinds and color. People laugh when read it,” he added.

Timerman also said that “the English newspapers do not support Cameron. They say it is a wrong strategy. And it is considered stupid the visit of [English Chancellor, William] Hague to South America these days. “
