Lionel Messi, despite his cold, scored twice in the Copa del Rey

Lionel Messi played in the Copa del Rey against Osasuna, despite being with a bad flu.

Barcelona player entered the field after 59 minutes and soon he scored two goals, helping the Catalan team to defeat Osasuna 4-0, in the first leg of the knockout finals of the Copa del Rey. Cesc Fabregas was the author of the other two goals.

Barca coach Pep Guardiola said, “Messi felt ill this morning, he had a belly pain, had a low-grade fever and much discomfort, so we sent him home. I said go, you come to watch the game and if you’re good you can stay. He called me 3 hours before the match and told me he wants to play and so I put him on the bench.”
