Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Norberto Yauhar, and Undersecretary of the National Dairy, Arturo Videla, received this morning, the ATILRA Secretary General Hector Ponce at the Headquarters of the Ministry.
After the meeting, the head of the Association of Workers of the Dairy Industry of Argentina, Hector Ponce said that “there is continuity of the policies that had been undertaken by the ministry, and we have raised, as a major issue, strengthening small and medium industries in the dairy sector. “
“We had the same tune with the new Minister, said Ponce, and we will work together to accomplish what we set: the recovery of the dairy plant in the town of Gandara belonged to the company Parmalat, forming a workers’ cooperative with the support of our union and the administrative and financial collaboration of the National State, the construction of a School-Factory Guild for training of workers in the dairy industry and inclusive plan stores across the country to get them out of informality and incorporated into the circuit of the registered work, with all the benefits that means for workers.”
The secretary general of the dairy industry workers, who is a member of the National Agri-Food Plan is the president of the International Dairy Bureau of the International Union of Food Industry, based in Geneva, noted that “everything we chatted with the minister Yauhar aims to improve not only workers and operators of SMEs in our industry but to the development of an industry that is increasingly powerful in Argentina.”
“This is basic”, Ponce said, “all measures taken by the Government to protect and promote the tools that keep the growth of this industry and keep the jobs, will be joined by our guild.”
Finally, the secretary general of the guild of workers in the dairy industry stressed the desire to “have an audience with President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, and we have requested this meeting to the Minister because it is very important to know that we accompany this model like many, although others opt for its failure.”
