Agüero Marcelo Vera Economic Criminal prosecutor filed the appeal the ruling that acquitted former President Carlos Menem for the crime of smuggling aggravated bythe sale of arms to Croatia and Ecuador. The prosecutor characterized the verdict as “arbitrary” and “contradictory”.Judicial sources said the prosecutor presented the appeal to the National Chamber of Appeal seeking to overturn the acquittals for Menem and 17 other accused and convicted.

The ruling was described as “contradictory” because for the maids and Horacio Luis ImasArtabe it was established that there were arms sales to Croatia and Ecuador,countries with which trade was prohibited weapons, contraband and recorded as it violated controls systems Customs.
