Pan American Games 2011: Argentina’s hockey and football team won the silver medals

In the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Friday, the teams of football and hockey could not bring the gold medals to Argentina.

The Argentine hockey team usually called “Las Leonas” was defeated by the Canadian team 4-2 and kept the silver medal, but did not lose their place for the Olympics in 2012.

The same happened to Argentine’s football team, that lost with Mexico for 1 to 0 and two players were sent off.

Argentina’s national team of volleyball lost in the semifinals against Brazil, 3-1, which managed to reverse the score: 27-25, 25-22 and then 25-15 in the last set.

The Argentine team reached the semifinals after winning against the United States and overcome in the first round to Venezuela and Mexico, losing only with Cuba.

Now the team of volley will have to play for the bronze, with the team that loses between Mexico and Cuba.
