Ecuador: The cabinet resigned at the request of President Correa

The cabinet of Rafael Correa, Ecuador’s president, resigned at the request of the latter for reasons that were not revealed. They have not announced the changes yet.

The rumor was confirmed by the legal secretary of the Presidency of Ecuador, Alexis Mera, who explained that the president has the letters of resignation of ministers since Friday.

“That’s what I heard but I have no instruction or order to make any changes to any Ministry,” he said, but added “we Secretaries gave him our resignation on Friday.”
