An AIDS vaccine will be tested

September 20, 2011
In a press conference, the scientific coordinating the project HIVACAT, Christian Brander, explained that “now we proceed to test the effectiveness of the vaccine in rabbits and pigs, although the first phase of human study will begin within two years, after checking that it is completely safe.”
“There are still many obstacles to overcome, since the results are good but not definitive, and among the great difficulties the fact remains is that HIV is a virus with a great capacity for mutation.”
This project consists of ‘an investigation of the AIDS vaccine, which succeeded in identifying a promising HIVACAT vaccine immunodeficiency virus (HIV), after obtaining positive results in clinical trials with mice’.
