A spokesman for Novak Djokovic confirmed that the player will be sidelined for four weeks. It was after the Davis Cup match against Juan Martin del Potro, in which he retired.
“Everything indicates that he will be out for four weeks, but to be safe we must wait for an MRI that will take place on Thursday,” Edoardo Artaldi, spokesman for the Serbian, said.
During the match with Del Potro, in the Davis Cup semi-final, Djokovic had to retire with a partial tear in the intercostal fibrillar, sources confirmed to M24Digital.
The player’s spokesman said that his client ”has a partial tear of the muscle fibers and internal bleeding.”
“Nole” will miss Beijing and Shanghai Masters 1000. But whatever happens, he will remain as the No. 1 in the ATP ranking.
