After allegations of Schoklender, Hebe said that “the enemy is the press”
Buenos Aires, September 15, 2011
Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Foundation president Hebe de Bonafini accused the media of defaming her association, following allegations by former representative Sergio Schoklender
“The enemy that we have is always in the newspapers,” Hebe said in the radio. “The enemy is in La Nación, Clarín, Infobae … that entire mob that does nothing but slander, enlarge and reinforce that we carry 2 million Euros. It is very funny,” she said.
“The slurs hurt us, annoy us, but we do not break down or anything because we have a clear conscience,” Bonafini said. “The Mothers paid to the water, so who is going to come into question?” she added.
Sergio Schoklender accused that Bonafini had a foreign account of 2 billion Euros, and the government of Cristina Kirchner used Mother funds for her campaign.
