Cristina Kirchner welcomed Sarkozy: “The problem is not speculation and prices”

Those were the words of French President Nicolas Sarkozy after the meeting he had with the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. Fighting speculation was one of the issues on which there was more consensus.

The president met with her counterpart from France, who said that “a political leader for Latin America” and said the country’s growth.

“We share the concern of Argentina on speculative capital in commodities, the problem is in speculation and not in prices,” said the French President.

Meanwhile, Cristina said there is “the need to pour more resources into the real economy and avoid speculation,” adding that “for such policies to be efficient, it must be accompanied by a coordinated action.”
