The first three arrested for the murder of the girl Candela Rodriguez were released, and simultaneously two other suspects were arrested: a 35 years old taxi driver who has criminal records for theft and one man admitted to a hospital in the suburbs.
Researchers believe that Candela was held captive in the house at 992 Kiernan St. and there they found traces of the taxi driver. The other prisoner is a man who is in hospital located in northwest suburbs for a beating, and who police presume that was also in the house.
On the other hand, a complementary survey of the autopsy would have revealed that the girl’s body had recent injuries due to sexual abuse, although there was no data to establish whether these lesions (in the rectum, caused by a hard object and blunt) were inflicted in captivity or shortly before the abduction of the child.
