Moyano: “The decision to remove me from the CGT will be taken by the workers”
Argentina, September 10, 2011
In response to the rumors of his departure as head of the CGT if the Kirchnerism wins in the October elections, Hugo Moyano said that “my removal from the CGT won’t be decided by the president or the ministers, the decision will be of the workers”.
The statements were made in a speech that the unionist gave at the University of the Congress in Mendoza’s city, and clarified “in October we have to choose President, not the general secretary of the CGT”.
He also stated that “we are not a government’s leg” and said “so far we have supported this government, because it gave to the labor movement things that others did not, such as the increase in the wages of workers”.
Moyano also devoted a few words to INDEC, “inflation is measured at the supermarket and not by the state agency’s data” and added “inflation mainly affects food products”.
On the other hand, referred to the possibility that one day a worker becomes president of the nation, arguing that “we had everything: lawyers, architects, artists, Why would a worker cannot be a candidate for President” and concluded “to understand the reality you do not need qualifications, just common sense”.
