Djokovic defeated Federer and is the first finalist of the US Open
United States, September 10, 2011
Today, Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in an exciting semifinal. The Serb lost the first two sets, then won the third and the fourth, and after being twice with Match Point against in the fifth, he did not give up and defeated the Swiss for 6-7, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and 7-5.
Thus, Djokovic took revenge of the U.S. Open final in 2007, where the Swiss had won.
After losing the first two sets of the match, Djokovic raised his game and changed the history by winning the last three sets. This is his fourth victory in five matches against Federer this year.
“It was an incredible game. Roger played a great tennis, and I knew my time waiting to turn the game. I’m happy and I ask the audience to dance with me to celebrate,” said Djokovic after beating Federer.
Now, the world number one awaits for the winner of Nadal and Murray.
