President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner announced from the Hall of Argentine Women’s Bicentennial in Casa Rosada, the increase in Universal Child Allowance increasing from $ 220 to $ 270 (Argentine pesos), which represents an augment of 22.7%.

These increases will reach 3,591,565 children and involves an investment of 2.189 million pesos, which means that each year will be allocated 11.824 million pesos to this social benefit.

Meanwhile, the disability allowance will reach $ 1,080 from $ 880 available today. Also the salary range of categories was increased: the $ 2,400 will come to 2,800, the $ 2800 to 4000, and the $ 4,800 to 5,000.

Also 138,000 workers are incorporated into the family allowances.

Tendinitis

The president was very critical of a strike by subway workers, who stopped because “charge SUBE system cards would generate tendinitis on them.”

“It seems that some have not addressed what is happening Argentina. Sometimes I argue, I get angry with some colleagues, but you cannot honestly say that it causes tendinitis … I saw my father who was a bus driver working for years, he had to give ticket per ticket, and never had tendinitis at all. Sure, he lived in a time where you had to work and was more difficult to be a revolutionary because he lived in a country which was undemocratic,” Cristina said strongly questioning the measure.

“When there is no government like ours, which has made human rights policy, not criminalization of social protests that are often provocative, to be revolutionary is the easiest thing. I never intended to be revolutionary, I was always Peronist very humble, nothing more,” she said bluntly.
