Brasil, September 1 2011

Antonio Patriota, Foreign Minister of Brazil, criticized the bombing carried out by NATO in Libya on Thursday.

Speaking to the Folha de Sao Paoulo minister said: “In the case of Libya, there is a gap between what was authorized byUnited Nations and NATO actions.”

Patriota  is travelling to Russia to participate in the consultation with the group Brics (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) on the matter but won’t participate in the meeting to be held in Paris today.

Brazil has not  recognized  yet the Libyan Transitional Council, a topic that will be discussed at the next meeting of the UN.
