A truck fell from the Zárate Brazo Largo Bridge at a height of 55 meters, and the driver miraculously saved his life.

Some people passing by the place looked astonished how the vehicle fell from that altitude, the highest point of the bridge and smashed on impact with the ground.

In principle, the witnesses were afraid to approach due to the possibility of an explosion, but noting that nothing happened, went to see the destroyed truck and were able to spot the driver, who was alive and asked to please somebody rescue him.

Witnesses interviewed by M24Digital, cut the seatbelt with a knife and could save him despite being among twisted metal and some injuries of varying degrees, but were not severe enough to put his life at risk. He just had a gash and a broken leg.

The truck fell at least 30 meters from the Parana River, which meant a double miracle for the driver as having fallen into the water was almost impossible to survive because he could not release the seatbelt.

The man identified as Carlos Alberto Herbert, 51, was taken to a hospital in Zárate town and is already out of danger. According to witnesses, the driver said that maybe a tire exploded and for that reason he lost control and fell from the bridge.

Gendarmerie and road safety act in the place, who reported that the overpass is not completely blocked.
