Steve Jobs resigned from Apple for unknown reasons

August 24, 2011

The founder and now former CEO of Apple resigned today for reasons the company has notyet revealed. Tim Cook would take office.

A company statement reveals that ”Jobs sent his resignation to the board today, strongly recommending the implementation of a succession plan and named TimCook as CEO.”

The reasons for the resignation were not disclosed by Apple, but much talk is going about the health status of the creator of the company and Pixar. In 2004, he had already been diagnosed (and subsequently treated) for pancreatic cancer.
