Man walks through a tighrope at 3000 meters over the sea level

Germany, August 21, 2011

There’s nothing ropey about this daredevil as he inches his was along a cable car line 3,000 metres above sea level – without a safety harness or balancing pole.

Freddy Nock, 46, powered along the 1,000-metre metal rope in Grainau, southern Germany, as part of a week-long challenge.

The fearless runner, from Switzerland, took just 90 minutes to reach the top of Zugspitze, which is the country’s highest mountain.

He is spending the rest of the week attempting a new record by doing seven summits in Germany, Austria and Switzerland over seven days.

After the incredible feat he said: “I don’t want to attempt that walk again.

“It’s behind me and I don’t want to do it again. Not without a balancing pole.
