The conversation between Cristina Kirchner and Mauricio Macri: “He was wearing shorts”

During her press conference, the president, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, said she was contacted by the elected head of government of the City of Buenos Aires. She joked with the circumstances of their last communication.

The president said that Mauricio Macri ”called me in the morning. The first to call was [Uruguayan president] Jose ‘Pepe’ Mujica”.

“Macri called me in the morning to congratulate me. I asked him what he was wearing and he said he was in shorts,” she said, to which the room erupted in laughter. ”He was on a cruise on the Italian coast, lucky him. It seems a very good gesture, I thanked him very much,” she added.

The commentary was in relation to the last communication that both of them kept after Macri won in the elections of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. He had said he was in underwear at the time.
